Ontario and Quebec speed limiter laws come into effect as of January 01, 2009

This new law will affect all commercial vehicles operating in Ontario and Quebec regardless of their place of origin.

Certain vehicles are exempt from this law, they are as follows:

a) a bus
b) a mobile crane;
c) a motor home;
d) a vehicle manufactured before 1995;
e) a vehicle with a manufacturer’s gross vehicle weight rating less
than 11,794 kilograms; or 5,400 lbs.
f) an ambulance, a cardiac arrest emergency vehicle, or a fire apparatus,
